The 2022 Grammy Nominations: My Thoughts and Predictions
Personally I do not really care for the Grammy's but I think it is always fun to discuss and analyze their picks. I don't think the awards themselves hold much merit as it is just a token of recognition from a bland mainstream audience. However the Grammy's are very popular and thought of as important by some so they will be a point of discussion every year. Let me know what your favorite nominations are and what the biggest snubs are; I will only discuss the categories I have opinions on.
Record of the Year
I am not familiar with four out of the ten songs in this category so I will speak on the ones that I do know. I love Kiss Me More by Doja Cat and SZA but I do not think it wins here, and though I was not thrilled with Happier Than Ever it has a chance, but I do not see it winning. In my opinion it is close between drivers license, MONTERO and Leave The Door Open and I love all of those songs respectively. As much as I would like to see Silk Sonic take it home, I think Olivia Rodrigo will get a similar treatment to the one Billie Eilish got last year.

Who I Think Wins: drivers license - Olivia Rodrigo
Album of the Year
With there being so many nominations I will just discuss them one by one. Justice by Justin Bieber is one of the worst albums I have heard this year but I also don't think it stands a chance at winning. Planet Her by Doja Cat is pretty good in my opinion and I think it stands a chance at winning but I think it's unlikely that it does. Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish has a good chance of winning in my opinion but I do not think it's deserving of it as it is good but not great. Montero is a good pop album and made a huge statement this year. I would really like to see Lil Nas X win but I don't think it's super likely. I think Sour will take it home pretty handily in my opinion and I think Billie is really the only threat to her win. Donda also has a chance but I don't really know what to think about its placement here. Although I don't think Donda is the best album here it is great to see some Hip-Hop representation in the overall categories but it still feels underwhelming and shows the Grammy's lack of representation.

Song of the Year
Once again I only know like half of the songs here but I will speak on the ones that I know. I think drivers license won't be the record of the year so Olivia is out on Song of the Year in my opinion. That leaves the door open (get it) for Silk Sonic, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish, as once again I don't think Peaches by Justin Bieber will win and I'll be disappointed if it does. Now taking everything into account I think sevreal of these songs will win other awards but I think Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are most likely to take it away.

Best New Artist
First of all not many of these artists are really that new but they are new to the mainstream I guess. FINNEAS is great but I do not think will win it considering he's not really new and all the Grammy's he has from his work with Billie. As much as I like Baby Keem I think he won't win, he's not big enough to be winning unfortunately. Saweetie is also not a new artist and I don't' think she stands a chance. I think it will ultimately be between The Kid LAROI and Olivia Rodrigo. I think Olivia will win but just barely, and I will not be surprised if LAROI takes it.
Who I Want To Win: Baby Keem
Who I Think Wins: Olivia Rodrigo
Best Pop Solo Performance
As I mentioned earlier I think Billie will win some Grammy's this year and I think this is where she does it. I will say I think Olivia should have had several other songs nominated too, such as deja vu, traitor and happier which are all just as good if not better than drivers license in my opinion.
Who I Want To Win: drivers lisence - Olivia Rodrigo
Who I Think Wins: Happier Than Ever - Billie Eilish
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
I have only heard Bieber and Doja's song on here so I think it'll be a pretty easy wipe for her though I wouldn't be surprised if BTS or Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga won, I just haven't heard their songs.
Who I Want To Win: Kiss Me More f/ SZA - Doja Cat
Who I Think Wins: Kiss Me More f/ SZA - Doja Cat
Best Pop Vocal Album
Although Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and Arianna Grande are all nominated here and haven't won, except for Kiss Me More, I do not think any of them, and I hope Justice doesn't. I think this will come down to Sour and Happier Than Ever and it could go either way.
Who I Want To Win: Sour - Olivia Rodrigo
Who I Think Wins: Happier Than Ever - Billie Eilish
Best Rock Song
I am not well versed in modern rock music in the slightest, but I did see All My Favorite Songs by Weezer was nominated and that is off of OK Human which is one of very few rock albums I have heard in 2021. I did very much enjoy that record so I would like to see them win.
Who I Want To Win: All My Favorite Songs - Weezer
Who I Think Wins: Find My Way - Paul McCartney
Best R&B Performance
Once again I will be commenting on what I know. I think Silk Sonic very much deserves this but if they win Song of the Year I feel like it would be a very typical Grammy's move to give it to Justin Bieber.
Who I Want To Win: Leave The Door Open - Silk Sonic
Who I Think Wins: Peaches f/ Daniel Ceasar & Giveon - Justin Bieber
Best R&B Song
I love Silk Sonic and I think they win but I think it'd be nice to see SZA or Giveon take it home here as Good Days and Heartbreak Anniversary were very impactful songs this year in their own right.
Who I Want To Win: Good Days - SZA
Who I Think Wins: Leave The Door Open - Silk Sonic
Best Rap Performance
I think Family Ties by Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar is very much deserving of the win, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do win but they are not my top pick. I think Up by Cardi B could pull an upset here but I don't think she will, same with Thot Shit by Megan Thee Stallion which is even less likely. Way 2 Sexy by Drake, Future and Young Thug has to be here as a joke; like personally I enjoy the song a lot but I do not think it has a shot at winning in the slightest. Finally we get to M Y . L I F E by J. Cole, 21 Savage and Morray which I think will take it. Since this is Cole's first time submitting music in five years at least I think the Grammy's will give him his flowers this year.
Who I Want To Win: M Y . L I F E f/ 21 Savage & Morray - J. Cole
Who I Think Wins: M Y . L I F E f/ 21 Savage & Morray - J. Cole
Best Melodic Rap Performance
In my opinion P R I D E . I S . T H E . D E V I L is the most deserving song here but I do not think it will win if M Y . L I F E wins Best Rap Performance. I think Need To Know by Doja Cat and Wusyaname by Tyler, The Creator are out on it though I think they will win Grammy's this year. Industry Baby by Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow is a contender and one of my favorite's here, but I think it will go to Kanye with Hurricane. It is kind of a sleeper pick and will compensate for him not winning album of the year.
Who I Want To Win: P R I D E . I S . T H E . D E V I L f/ Lil Baby - J. Cole
Who I Think Wins: Hurricane f/ Lil Baby & The Weeknd - Kanye West
Best Rap Song
Honestly this one is very up in the air to me and I think it could go any which way. I think it makes sense for them to pick any one of Bath Salts, Best Friend, Family Ties, Jail or M Y . L I F E.
My pick for who I think wins is not a confident one as I can see any five of these songs winning.
Who I Want To Win: Family Ties f/ Kendrick Lamar - Baby Keem
Who I Think Wins: M Y . L I F E f/ 21 Savage & Morray - J. Cole
Best Rap Album
This comes down to two people in my opinion. Certified Lover Boy doesn't stand a chance and I would be very surprised if he wins even though it is Drake. King's Disease II is out because Nas won last year though I think he's the most deserving this year. Kanye I think is out but I think he's also the most likely to win out of these three. I think it'll come down to Call Me If You Get Lost and The Off-Season and I think it goes either way. I can't even confidently pick which one I like better as they are so close to each other but I think ultimately that this will be a big year for Cole.
Who I Want To Win: King's Disease II - Nas
Who I Think Wins: The Off-Season - J. Cole
I will close this off by saying that rapper Skyzoo tweeted that there should be an underground rap album of the year and I agree wholeheartedly. I think that rappers who aren't even underground anymore like Griselda should get a chance to be nominated because it's unlikely they do, but an award like that could make them Grammy royalty. For this year if there was a Best Underground Hip-Hop Album category I would give it to either The Color Blu(e) by Blu or Bo Jackson by Boldy James & The Alchemist, with an honorable mention to Pray For Haiti by Mach Ho
