10 Albums That We Hope Drop Before The End Of 2021

With the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2021, the only confirmed album release that we have to look forward to is P*NK by Young Thug coming October 15th and Montero by Lil Nas X coming later this week. With that I decided to recount some officially announced projects that we are not too sure of when they are dropping

10. TBA - Joey Bada$$

Last week I would not have even had Joey on this list until he uploaded a photo to his Instagram with the caption, "I decided last night that I actually won't drop the album until the @kidcudi vocals come in. Sorry not sorry." (via @Joeybadass). We have not heard from Joey about music in a long time but this gives me hope we might see a new album from him before the end of 2020.

Chances he drops before the end of the year: 3/10

9. An Evening With Silk Sonic - Silk Sonic

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have been very quiet since they announced their album and dropped their hit single Leave The Door Open. They later on dropped Skate without really saying anything, which was not quite as successful. With the duo still riding hot off of the success of Leave The Door Open, which has already over half a billion streams on Spotify alone, I find it very unlikely that they drop before the end of this year.

Chances they drop before the end of the year: 1/10

8. Forever - Phife Dawg

The late member of the legendary Hip-Hop group, A Tribe Called Quest, had a posthumous album announced some time ago, with no real follow up since then. Until a couple of weeks ago when his camp dropped a single in his name, confirming that they have music of his in the vault. The question of its quality is still up in the air, and may be why we haven't seen an official release date yet. Assuming this drops, I hope it is quality work that he intended to be released and not another shameless cash-grab that we have seen other record labels do.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 6/10

7. The Pink Tape - Lil Uzi Vert

Uzi has recently been making his rounds promoting and previewing songs from his upcoming album. With no real release date or confirmed information about the album, fans are left skeptical about the legitimacy of it. However Uzi has reached a level in his career where he doesn't need a whole tree single drop followed by a press run to promote his album, it's going to stream very well when it drops regardless. I think Uzi definitely drops in the next six months to avoid another situation like Eternal Atake, where fans are just left waiting for a long period of time.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 8/10

6. Soul Sold Separately - Freddie Gibbs

With Freddie coming off of the most mainstream success he has seen in his career thus far, it seems as if he's playing it careful with his next album. Still hot off of the release of last years Grammy nominated album, Alfredo, he has also dropped several hot singles this year so far. He has talked about his upcoming album numerous times, saying it features production from familiar faces such as Madlib and The Alchemist, as well as other notable producers like Hit-Boy, who has been on a crazy run, and Mike-Will-Made-It. I don't know if we will see it this year however as he seems to be crossing over into the acting field, playing in several smaller roles, and landing his first lead just recently.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 4/10

5. From A Birds Eye View - Cordae

This album has been announced for a while now, with Cordae dropping hot singles like Gifted with Roddy Ricch and The Parables, both of which dropping in 2020, and his Just Until.... EP which I thought was very good. If he chooses to drop the record this year, it likely won't be until December. With no official release date and several songs out since its announcement the ball is really in Cordae's court, and there's no telling for sure when it will drop.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 4/10

4. King Push - Pusha T

Pusha T has been fairly quiet since the release of his critically acclaimed, seven song long album, Daytona. With Daytona being his best body of work yet fans have been clamoring for his next project. Earlier this year Pusha mentioned in an interview that the album would feature production from none other than Kanye West and Pharrell, both of which he has worked with a lot throughout his career, but no announcement of a release date. The most recent we have heard from him was a small allusion on his verse on Pop Smokes posthumous album Faith.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 6.5/10

3. The Forever Story - JID

Several times throughout the year we have been updated that this album is near finished. I personally believe it may be finished. I think we see either The Forever Story, or Ghetto Gods by EARTHGANG drop before the end of the year. With both being apart of the Dreamville collective, J. Cole already dropping a huge album earlier this year and fellow Dreamville signee, Lute scheduled to drop soon as well, I find it very unlikely we see both JID and EARTHGANG within three months of each other, making it a 50/50 shot really of who Cole decides to green light.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 5/10

2. ALL $MILES - A$AP Rocky

Rocky pushes the boundaries of what Hip-Hop music could be with the release of every album and fans have been waiting since the release of new music pretty much since TESTING dropped. We have heard very little from him in terms of music lately, aside from a few features here and there, as well as snippets in advertisements for his Pacsun collab and Klarna. Rocky has been doing his thing in fashion lately and seems to be slowly moving away from music. I do think he will release an album at some point, whether it be ALL $MILES, The Cozy Tapes Vol. 3, WANG$AP with Tyler, the Creator, or something completely different, but I think it'll be awhile before it comes to fruition.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 1/10

Surprising absolutely no one at 1. Oklahoma - Kendrick Lamar

With Kendrick's reemergence, with the announcement of Oklahoma, appearances on The Melodic Blue by Baby Keem and the alleged leaked track list it's safe to say that the king is back like he never left. Kendrick is another artist that is at a level where he needs no promotion to drop and it will stream very well, so realistically it could drop at any moment. It's still very up in the air as he has still been very quiet, but fans are anticipating it, whenever it releases.

Chances it drops before the end of the year: 7/10

A couple other artists that have been quite as of late whose next project I can't wait for: Denzel Curry, Kid Cudi, Brent Faiyaz, 6LACK, Danny Brown, Future, JAY-Z, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, SZA and Wale
